Belliston Academy of Ballet offers
a certified program in the Cecchetti Method and the Royal Academy of Dancing
(R.A.D.) Syllabus.
WHAT ARE THE CECCHETTI METHOD AND R.A.D. ?
They are programs of carefully graded ballet instruction that are taught and recognized all over the world as a valid method. All students need to study technique, it is a necessary part of their training....not reserved for future professionals as some might believe! BAB uses certified programs to assure you of excellent and qualified training!
WHY WOULD I WANT MY CHILD TO STUDY CECCHETTI AND R.A.D.?
The child gains awareness of one's own body and its capabilities for movement...expression and sensitivity to music...the satisfaction that comes from mastering a goal and moving on to the next challenge...it is designed to be enjoyed...the natural delight in dancing is combined with the knowledge and self-discipline gained by the study of classical ballet...the child may move into other areas of interest, as often happens in growing up, but he or she will have gained much pleasure and benefit from this ballet experience...and for the student who wishes to go on to more advanced ballet, the Cecchetti Method and R.A.D. provide an excellent foundation for more career-oriented training.
WHAT ARE THE STEPS?
You take your classes, learn the material, take the exams. The Cecchetti Method has seven levels and two preliminary level classes. R.A.D. consists of a Children's Program offering several levels and a Major Syllabus at a much higher level of execution.
WHEN IS MY CHILD READY TO BEGIN?
Right now! Preliminary and children's classes are designed
to meet the needs of children ages 5 through 17, who attend ballet class
once, or ideally, twice a week or more.
